That field is a mess anyway. Both teams need to show up in something other than white and play the game.

And the city needs to do something with that field. Fill dirt would help. Current dirt seems to be mostly coal dust (black as night). And plant some grass on the visitor's sideline.

Isn't the visitor sideline part of the baseball dirt? I know we had some issues with the grass this season and there was a disease that just about killed it out, had the LPCC superintendent up there fixing stuff.

I don't know about baseball, never been there when it was configured as such. A mat or something would help on that sideline.

Hey Bob (as in hello). If you stand toward the top of the visitors seats and look down or back you can see the rest of the infield. Two playing surfaces that don't mix well.
We'll keep the lights on for you.

So is this Thrashing going to be moved to Saturday or are they getting it over with tonight? Not that I'd pay to watch Clintwood Smack Burton around for a couple of hours, we'll be doing it ourselves soon enough.

    Re: J.I. Burton - Clintwood

With the game being played tonight at JIB, i give the edge to Clintwood. Its hard to stop the "up the gut" run in the mud, but the passing game gets harder in the mud. I look for Clintwood to grind it out in a close fought ball game. Lets say 21 to 17 Clintwood

    Re: J.I. Burton - Clintwood

C'mon does anybody, with a real opinion, expect a thrashing by Clintwood? If Clintwood wins, it will be a hard fought game. I hope they win, and I hope they win easily, but being realistic, I don't see that happening. Not saying that Clintwood can't or won't win, just I don't see a blowout by them on Norton's field with Norton's big play capability. I'm hopeful that the harder schedule thus far (and sorry that isn't trashing whomever Norton can or can't play, because I know that Clintwood struggles to find teams as well) pays off for Clintwood. It could, or it could have exploited weaknesses that Norton attacks. I honestly have a hard time reading this Clintwood team. They play really well at times and other times have looked pretty horrid. My interpretation is a lot weaker this year as I haven't been around as much, and unless a miracle happens and the fever that I'm currently running disappears, I will probably be stuck listening to it tonight. Previous years I'd have forced myself to go, sick be danged, but with the rugrat, I'm trying to think bigger picture. Anyhow, if Clintwood is able to win, it's going to be due to a few players stepping up and playing to their capability. Not above their capability, just to it. Even though the dope bucket picks Clintwood (Hmmm Jimbo trying to get a bit of motivation that way, surely not!!!), I don't think most predictors pick it that way, but hey I hope he's right I think Clintwood needs to get a play or two early, build some confidence. Hopefully I'm wrong and Clintwood wins handily, but then again, I'm biased
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

This person is not a Union fan, it is likely a JIB fan (maybe CW but I doubt it, or GC) posing as a UHS fan to stir shit up
